What do the six room layouts mean?
Capacity depends on both the size of the room and the chosen layout. For example, Vesterhavet I & II can accommodate 520 guests in theatre style, 360 in classroom style and 120 in a U-shape. Below is an explanation of how the six layouts work.
Chairs are arranged in rows without tables, facing the stage or screen. This layout is ideal for talks, presentations and plenary sessions and usually accommodates the highest number of attendees.
Tables and chairs are arranged in rows facing the presenter. Choose classroom style when attendees need to take notes, use a laptop or have materials in front of them.
Guests sit in groups around round tables. This layout is suitable for dinners, networking and group work where conversation at the table is important.
Guests sit at round tables with an open side facing the stage or screen. Cabaret style combines presentations with opportunities for discussion and group work at the tables.
Tables are arranged in a U-shape with the open end facing the presenter. This layout creates good contact between attendees and space for presentations or discussion in the centre.
Guests sit around one shared meeting table. Boardroom style is ideal for board meetings, management meetings and smaller meetings focused on dialogue.

How do you choose the right room layout?
Choose according to what attendees need to do. Theatre style uses the space efficiently for presentations. Classroom style provides table space for notes and laptops. Cabaret and banquet layouts support discussion in smaller groups, while U-shape and boardroom layouts suit meetings where everyone needs to see and speak to one another.
A conference programme can benefit from several layouts: theatre style for shared presentations, smaller rooms for workshops, and banquet or cabaret style for group work and dining. See all meeting rooms, explore our meeting packages, or learn about catering for meetings and conferences.
